Anwar ul Haq Kakar Caretaker Federal Government of Pakistan Loan Detail February 2024
Lahore (Correspondent): During the first half-year period from July to December of the current fiscal year, the caretaker government has acquired new loans totaling Rs. 2.407 trillion, out of which Rs. 537.631 billion worth of loans were obtained during the first three months from July to September, while additional loans of Rs. 1.261756 trillion were acquired during the second three months from October to December.
Among these, loans worth Rs. 1.799387 trillion were obtained from the domestic banking sector and loans worth Rs. 608.381 billion were obtained from foreign sources.
After this increase in borrowing, by December 31, 2023, Pakistan’s burden of domestic debt has increased to Rs. 40.606 trillion. Similarly, during the first half-year period from July to December, Pakistan’s foreign loans reached up to Rs. 2.4679 trillion.
