For the establishment and institutionalization of a reliable integrated energy planning structure, providing the Government of Pakistan (GoP) with a credible analytical platform, the Planning Commission is seeking a suitable candidate for the Project “Integrated Energy Planning (IEP) for Sustainable Development.” Candidates meeting the required qualifications and experience, available on our website (www.pc.gov.pk), may apply.
1. IEP Director Grade PPS-10
- Number of Posts: 01
- Qualifications: Ph.D./Master’s degree in engineering, science, or an energy-related discipline from an accredited institution recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience (Ph.D.) or minimum 14 years’ experience (Master’s Degree) with at least 07 years of proven experience in energy planning and management, systems/energy modeling, energy economics, or similar applications.
- Preference will be given to candidates with applied research or policy analysis experience in Pakistan’s energy sector, knowledge of technical, commercial, regulatory, and policy aspects of Pakistan’s energy sector and global practices.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to the IEP Technical Advisory Group (TAG), four Working Groups (WGs), and the Energy Planning and Research Center (EPRC) staff.
- Contribute to the formulation of integrated energy plans and policy recommendations.
- Coordinate with government agencies, academic institutions, and private sector entities to ensure stakeholder engagement.
- Monitor and coordinate IEP stakeholders’ capacity development, resource allocation, and other supportive actions.
2. Senior Policy Analyst Grade PPS-10
- Number of Posts: 01
- Qualification: Master’s degree in public policy, energy policy, energy planning, business administration, economics, or a related discipline from an accredited institution recognized by the HEC.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in energy policy and planning, quantitative analysis, economic impact assessments, or similar applications.
- Knowledge of regulatory and policy aspects of Pakistan’s energy sector and typical policy regimes globally.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the IEP Director in the management and coordination of all activities and functions of the EPRC.
- Contribute to the Analysis and Policy Working Group (WG) in setting key assumptions, defining and compiling scenarios for modeling, and formulating policy, investment, and planning recommendations.
3. Forecasting Specialist Grade PPS-10
- Number of Posts: 02
- Qualifications: Master’s degree in computer science, economics, econometrics, mathematics or statistics, engineering, or energy-related discipline from an accredited institution recognized by the HEC.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in energy demand forecasting, energy planning, and energy supply chain management.
- Knowledge of energy sector supply sources, forecasting methodologies, and international information sources for global energy forecasts.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and contribute to the development and updates of demand and market forecasts relevant to integrated energy planning and modeling activities.
- Support the Forecasting Working Group (WG) in defining and validating base assumptions, methodologies, and requirements for developing projections.
4. Data Analyst Grade PPS-06
- Number of Posts: 02
- Qualification: Master’s/Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or Statistics.
- Experience: Minimum three (3) years of experience in data compilation, report preparation, and general office duties.
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide assistant services for the newly established Energy Information System (EIS) under IEP.
- Collect, compile, process, and store IEP-related data, information sources, and records.
